Closure of Twin Cities North East Social

Hello Members!!

It's too bad the group is closing tomorrow.

The reason why I started this group was the need for something in the North East Twin Cities area to which we could go to a group of events in the area where we wouldn't have to go 1/2+ hours to attend an event.  A lot of you agreed by joining the group and wanted to do the same.  But that's just good intentions.  You haven't gone to the events (many different kinds and dates.)  It's futile to post any more.

The reason for closing is very little attendance for the past year.  (Like yesterday at Music in Mears.  We had 3 of us go and that is the highest amount attending to an event.)

A few other plans that were in the works:
I was planning the group to go on a boat tour at Taylor's Falls, MN. (Click here)

I was notified of the MN Swarm's new season just being posted (Click here).

It's always a nice stroll through Tamarack Nature Center (Click Here).   Then we'd go to Keys Cafe for a bite to eat at this down home cookin' Restaurant!

Skating at John Rose Oval (Click here) . This rink is HUGE.  It has 4 pick-up hockey rinks in the middle of an oval speed skating rink.  Open skating is fun for everyone.  It is for beginners, intermediate and advanced skaters.  The warming house is small and gets crowed but if you get there early and secure a spot to drop your gear off underneath a bench, it's OK.  Their is a nice bonfire at inside the corner inside one turn of the oval.

And hundreds of different venues, things to do, dates, times, days of the week/weekends.  These events are 1st rate events, I've tried to make them as fun and engaging as possible!!

I've asked questions of the group, had (and still have) a Poll of when is a good day of the week to post events and how long in advance to post the events.  (Click here) To which, I've gotten 1 response for the question "What day of the week is best to post an event?" and 25 responses to  the question "When is it too late or early to post an event in advance?"

Do you really want to see this go down?

Better voice your reply now.  It's the 11th hour...

Saying is good intentions - doing is proving.

I've spent lots of time, work, money and effort to make this group live and breath in fun, intimidating and a variety of events.  I've taken different days of the week, times, posting at different times in advance, different venues, atmospheres, places in the North East area of the Twin Cities.

I've neglected a lot of personal chores (house, yard, health, being, on and on) in the time that could have spent doing these things that needed to be done.  They were traded for time, effort and money in events that no one showed up at (or as much as 3).  It's not worth the effort, time and money when there was such a LOW (or no) attendance for the past 1-2 years!!

Good luck,
