New Year

From: Judy C.

It's been a while since my last email, I hope that your holiday and new year was excellent! Before the end of each year, I usually will make some type of resolution that I would give up by February (rollerblading, p90x, and hullahooping). This year, I made it a lot easier on myself - I choose to do nothing extravagant, other than the Houston Shakers, and maybe become a published poet by the end of nothing extravagant.

Now onto the TED videos - I read up on a lot about the human cognitive function and what really drives the way we feel, the way we think, and ultimately the way we act. These two TED talks although seemingly different at first, share a lot in common:

Karen Thompson Walker: What fear can teach us

Israel and Iran: A love story?

I often wonder what I would do in the face of catastrophe - would I stand up and be the hero, or run? I don't know.

Housekeeping issues:

Second Sunday is two weeks away! We are already on a waiting list. Will update with more information 1 week before the event, so please read that email.

Happy 2013,
