Medieval Festival at Fort Tryon Park 2013

Another TGTSNBN tradition, the Medieval Festival at Fort Tryon Park is a FREE festival held every year in one of the cities most gorgeous parks.

Fort Tryon is actually fairly easy to get to.

One method is to take the A train to 190th street and make sure to take the elevators upstairs.

By bus you can take the M4 which drops you off right in front of the festival.

I recommend leaving EARLY if you taking the bus or the train. There is almost always weekend delays.  You don't want to miss any of the fun.

The Medieval Festival is DEFINITELY a costume encouraged event.  Many of our members either wear ren garb or HP cosplay.  Remember, this is always encouraged not required =)

Near the end of the day we traditionally meet at the upper level of the Cloisters to take photos in front of their iron gate.  This year shouldn't be any different =D

The website for the festival can be found here:

Hi Emily, we usually stay to closing or near closing and also - you won't have trouble finding us - we break up into smaller groups, but the place is easy to find us in. Just look for the most FUN people and it'll be US.

    Best regards,

    Deanna (The Elder)

hey, i came to a tgtsnbn meetup years ago, and lately i've been getting more into meetups. i'd like to come to this, especially since i live very close by, but i rarely get up before noon. if i come at 2 or 3, will you guys still be there? and how will i know where to look for you?

We don't really travel together as a group well at this event. Particularly due to its size and how everyone has different interests. Our members tend to form smaller groups and hang out at the faire that way. But there really isn't a way to pick out our members unfortunately =( We will definitely still be at the event though at that time and around 2pm or so we will be gathering for a group photo.

I'll be there after 11. I may or may not run into you guys. My own meetup is getting out of hand (I'm expecting 30+), plus it's meeting at a slightly more convenient time, so it behooves me to help lead my own group. Do you have a time frame for the big group picture?
