I am working on a project to implement live, thin-client reporting in a web environment where the data is housed in a MySQL database (a modified version of a Joomla! DB). We are currently posting static reports, but know that our users would greatly value live reporting.

Any feedback, suggestions or personal experience in designing/implementing such a project would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,

We have been very successful using Jaspersoft for these types of solutions. Depending on which module or edition of the product you are using there are tons of features to take advantage. There is great information on the Jaspersoft website. But, certainly let me know if you have specific questions.
