Native Plant Propagation

Mt. Helix Park is proud to be hosting a Nature/Sustainability Lecture Series and our first event is coming up Saturday March 1 from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Mt. Helix Park amphitheater. Please join us as plant aficionado, Ed Piffard, discusses how to propagate California native plants. Mr. Piffard is part of the recently formed Mt. Helix Garden Party and is currently helping the Park with it's habitat restoration efforts. A Mt. Helix resident, he has landscaped his own home with these beautiful, drought tolerant, low maintenance varieties and has an extensive knowledge of gathering seeds, propagating and cultivating them - in short, he is a very fascinating, knowledgeable guy, so bring your questions! Feel free to bring friends and family (kids are welcome)! Parking will be at the lower lots across from the San Miguel Fire Station at 10105 Vivera Dr. This is a walk-up event (it's a 5-10 minute walk to the amphitheater). Attendees unable to walk-up should contact the office...a limited number of handicapped spaces are available at the top. Coffee and pastries will be available. Hope to see you there. For more information, see the Mt. Helix Park website at www.mthelixpark.org.

I really enjoyed this also. The speaker was informative, the location was great and the other attendees were friendly.

Contacted Mt Helix, they are planning on this event going forward, rain or shine. If it's raining the event is being moved indoors.
