Parade of Lights Boat Show (4-6 pm) @Alexandria Marina behind Torpedo Factory (Look for us there. I will have a Meetup Top Hat on). We can have a happy hour drink after the show in a nearby pub.
Description - The Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights is a favorite holiday celebration in both Old Town Alexandria and Washington, DC. Festively decorated pleasure boats light up the sky along the Potomac River including 50 powerboats, sailboats and the District's fireboat, the John Glenn spouting water 70 feet into the air. The brightly lit boats are creatively decorated as they compete in categories such as "Best in Show," "Best Thinking Outside the Christmas Box," and "Hardiest Souls."
Parking: King Street waterfront. Get there early to park and set up (~3 pm). Bring a folding chair to sit on if you need it.
If you get there early or want to spend the day, they have many festivities goigon and everything is decorated.
The holiday season in Old Town Alexandria is magical… Historic streets decorated brightly for the holidays, entertainers on street corners drawing a crowd, colorful shop windows inviting visitors to enjoy the holiday season and create lasting memories. Explore the festivities from King Street in Old Town Alexandria to Del Ray's nostalgic Mount Vernon Avenue and the shops in the City's West End, Alexandria.
All Aboard, Mates!
