  • This location is shown only to members

SOLD OUT!

The Swan Lake ballet and it's music are at the top of the cultural ladder!

It really doesn't get any better than this. Talk about top of the world. So if you have never experienced a ballet before, see this one.

We can meet for lunch at the Roof Terrace Restaurant on the top floor of the Kennedy Center and eat by a window with a view.

After lunch, and getting to know each other, we will enjoy 'Swan Lake' by the Mariinsky Ballet.

Pick your favorite seats; we can talk after and meet near the place where you get drinks.

If you do not want to have lunch, meet us in front near where they collect the tickets about 15 min before show time. I will hold a Meetup sign or call me.

I have a seat in the first tier (D section) row D seat 136 aisle for $100.

Buy tickets online@ kennedy-center.org

or call[masked] (better option to get good seats)

All Aboard, Mates!

The ballet was magnificent, I never would have had this experience without this meetup posting! I arrived too late to find people, but thanks for trying, Dianne! Didn't see you at intermissions, I forgot to write down your seat number.

I am so glad that you enjoyed the ballet but so sorry we missed you. We were looking forward to meeting you. Next time!

Nice seeing Kelly again, our friend from VA, and Steve and Carol, but we missed everyone else, although I made a gallant effort to find them; 12:00, 12:30&1:00 pm I walked around with a Meetup sign over my head looking for everyone.

Actually, I went directly to the Kennedy Website and found out that they were sold out. But glad to be on the wait list in either case. We will see.

You might get lucky and get to buy my ticket because I am going to play in the regional Poker tournament in Feb, which it is on a Sat, but they haven't declared which one yet. However, the ticket will be full price at $100 or $106 (forget exact number) with no barterig breaks because if I do not get my money back, I will forfiet playing in the tournament (and possiboilty of winning $1,200!)

Yep, that's why I announced it early so our members could get tickets. You were probably waiting for Goldstar discount, but should never do that for popular shows like this because these tickets NEVER get discounted. It always sells out.
However, the game is not over yet, because someone might not be able to go and then they will want to sell their ticket! Go on the waiting list by signing up again.

I'm new to the area. Can you get to the Kennedy Center by Metro. Not keen on driving all the way from Gaithersburg.

Yes, it is great. Get off at the Foggy Bottom/George Washington U. stop, when you go up escalator to street level, at the curb there is a Kennedy Center shuttle that runs regularly and will take you directly there. It runs every 15 min. from 10 am - midnight on Saturdays. After performance, take it back to the Foggy Bottom stop to board Metro. It is free. You could also walk to Kennedy Center from that stop if you desired, 0.3 miles.

Sorry, I didn't see that Dianne had already replied.

Great question! The answer is YES! Take the red line to Metro Center, switch to blue or orange to Foggy Bottom/George Washington U. Station. It's a short walk via New Hampshire Ave toward the river OR use the FREE Kennedy Center Shuttle (signs are towards the left as you exit the escalator from Metro). Or you can catch the #80 bus. The shuttle departs every 15 minutes from 10 a.m.-Midnight Saturdays.
Parking at Kennedy Center is $22 (no vehicles over 7')

Great! I'm so glad I just found out about it. Been busy and didn't look at the Kennedy Center's offerings until recently.
