How many snakes do you encounter on your outings? Do you know which ones are dangerous? Only a few of the local snake species pose any threat to humans. Learn about the snakes you may encounter and how to properly identify them. Free to all ages.
T.O.W.N. is a "by-product" of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) workshop started by several Houston BOW instructors (including Patti Carothers and Terry Webb) and participants (Karen Mauro, Sandi Webb and others). BOW started in 1993 and TOWN started in 1995. (We think!)
Our mission is to provide an atmosphere where women feel comfortable learning new skills associated with kayaking, fishing, shooting, camping, archery, and other outdoor activities in a supportive and non-threatening environment.
Membership is a great, stress free way to involve yourself in the outdoors. The beauty of the group is that we have members interested in a wide variety of activities. So, if you are looking to find an outdoor hobby that fits you, then this is the place.
