Bring a headlamp or flashlight as it will be dark out for the whole hike. I'm going to try and do this, so if you are afraid of the dark this isn't the hike for you.

If we leave right on time at 5:45, we're done around 7:15 pm.

4 miles of perfect fall evening hiking.

Four miles and elev. gain of 600 may be too much for a beginning hiker. If you are used to small hills you will be fine though.

The description is as follows for the mini-hike: Talepop Loop Event Description: This is a relatively easy hike for a regular hiker( 4 miles 600' elev gain) with pleasant views of oak studded rolling hills. The hike starts out at Juan Bautista de Anza Park, connects with the Talepop Loop trail and climbs a ridgeline with nice views of both Liberty and Malibu Canyons.

Juan Bautista de Anza Park 3701 Lost Hills Road Calabasas, CA 91302 Park is on the corner of Las Virgenes and Lost Hills Rds.

Meet at west end of parking lot. Parking is free.

Suggestion:Wear long pants/sleeves as the brush on either sides of the trail can be very dry and sharp if you rub against it.

Directions :

From the Valley - Take 101 west. Exit Las Virgenes. Left on Las Virgenes to Lost Hills Rd. Right on Lost Hills. Left into Park

From Ventura - Take 101 east. Exit Lost Hills Rd. Right on Lost Hills. Right into the park.

What to Bring : 1 to 2 liters of water, hiking shoes (tennis shoes are ok), snack.

If anyone wants to grab a bite/drink at Wolfe Creek Restaurant and Brewery in Calabasas afterward--there's that too! A wonderful post hike activity!
