The KUVO Jazz Radio Station (http://www.kuvo.org/) in Five Points will be broadcasting one or more of our BB5P playlists on 89.3 FM during our scheduled dance-walking time.

Please share WalkDenver's BB5P Press Release (http://betterblockfivepoints.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/walkdenver-bb5p-press-release-final.pdf) with your friends and family. The BB5P program schedule (http://betterblockfivepoints.com/schedule-of-events/) includes live music, ballet performance, gardening demonstrations, story time, walking tours, bike rides, food trucks, tennis, yoga, dance walking, youth marketplace and much more. One of the walking tours you may especially enjoy will be led by Jonathon Stalls, the founder of the marvelous Walk2Connect (http://www.walk2connect.com/) group. TTWalks' co-founder and co-organizer, Fran Rew, is a volunteer coordinator for the BB5P dance walking activities. You can sign up to be a BB5P volunteer on BB5P Volunteer List (http://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050A49A5A923A20-better).

Dance walking became a growing global passion, when Ben Aaron (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ben-Aaron-LXTV-NBC/173749015991290), NBC (http://www.nbcnewyork.com/the-scene/fashion/new-york-live-167872065.html?f=t) television's New York City Emmy award-winning reporter and comedian, inspired millions of people to enjoy dance walking together. In Ben's first of many video reports on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib3Duz_6a9M) and NBC (http://www.nbcnewyork.com/video/#!/on-air/as-seen-on/Ben-Aaron-Dance-Walks/[masked]), he dance walked with random groups of people and individuals on the busy sidewalks of Manhattan. People from all over the world began to share their dance walking videos on YouTube.

What would it take to create many year-round dance-walking activities to share in Denver's Five Points?

Let's hope that more Denver dance-walking coordinators will be inspired by the dance walking in the BB5P event's upcoming YouTube video!

On the day of the BB5P event, our dance-walking leader will be:

David Corder, NSCA-CPT (http://www.perfectfitwc.com/david-corder-personal-trainer.html), Perfect Fit Wellness Center.

Also joining us will be a few surprise dance-walking leaders and participants from the Community Minded Dance (http://www.cmdance.org/) organization. I discovered them when I saw their flash mob dance in Five Points (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAsMkwohW-o&list=PL31C70ABBA751F93B) on YouTube. They are having a fund-raiser dance on August 3, 2013, called Lindy on the Rocks (http://www.lindyontherocks.com/).

Caryn Carrasco, Founder of Community Minded Dance (http://www.cmdance.org/).

In preparation for this dance-walking event, we have been fortunate to have the following additional dance-walking consultants:

Lindsay Sworski, LMT, founding coordinator DanceWalk Boulder (http://www.facebook.com/groups/353477231393970/) and Moving Presence (http://www.movingpresence.com/Lindsay_Sworski/Welcome.html).

Sandra Ol (http://www.spicylotusfitness.com/about-sandra-oliver/)iver, CPT (http://www.spicylotusfitness.com/about-sandra-oliver/), Spicy Lotus Fitness.

I became excited about the Better Block national movement when I watched the TEDx (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ntwqVDzdqAU) video presentation by the national founder of the Better Block movement, Jason Roberts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ntwqVDzdqAU), talk with humor and joy about successfully transforming his run-down neighborhood blocks in Dallas, Texas.

Please feel free to call me, (Fran) with any comments or questions about our TTWalks dance walking activities in the BB5P event at (303)[masked] (h), (720)[masked] (c), or email [masked].
