• City Center Live: Modern Day Fitzgerald

    Lenexa Commons outdoor stage

    City Center Live is back with Modern Day Fitzgerald, which plays jazz, rock, blues and hip-hop. Their sound is a throwback to the late 1950s and early 1960s, with a modern twist. They will be performing on the Lenexa Commons outdoor stage, so bring your lawn chairs so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the show. Admission is free. City Center Live is a partnership between the City of Lenexa and Johnson County Library.

  • Meet the Illustrator: Hey-Ho to Mars We’ll Go with Bob Kolar

    Johnson County Library - Corinth

    We’ll read Bob Kolar’s new book, Hey Ho to Mars We’ll Go. It’s based on a simple little rhyme that is about a big, complicated idea. We’ll talk about Mars and how humans might get there one day. Then we can each draw our own spaceships. Best for ages 6 and up. Presented by Bob Kolar, an author, artist, designer and teacher. He has illustrated 33 children’s books, and has written six, two of which became animated TV shows. His work also appears on toys, puzzles, clothing and other fun stuff for kids. Bob lives in Lee’s Summit with his wife Lisa. They have 3 grown children.
