The land of Bolfast which you call home has become cloaked in an unnatural winter. The local baron has been captured by the Ice Queen. Her rage is said to be great and terrible. She is from a land across the sea where she killed her former lover and her heart turned to pure ice.
Before your brave heroes can aid their noble liege and save their kingdom, they see a lone figure stumbling towards them through the swirling snows. His white bearskin specked with red...
I am planning to run a side adventure supplementing my main campaign called "The Land of Eternal Winter". This quest is set in the Deserts of Fire setting. I am using a custom ruleset of my own devising similar to 1e D&D.
I am willing to teach all new players the game and I will bring all supplies necessary to play except for the 5$ cover charge to game at Tabletop Cafe.
I will only be running this game if we have a minimum attendance of 4 players RVSPed. Otherwise, I will reschedule.
If so desired, I can bring other RPG systems or we can all play a board game.
I will be keeping an eye out for one or two players to join my main campaign if I think you would be a good fit.
Previous Adventure Recap (main campaign adventure #10):
The heroes uncovered a tower in another dimension filled with purple clouds and endless lightning. Rods on the roof of the endless tower power a ring of portals to other realms.
Zark the dark wizard has captured the power of the elven tree of life and left that kingdom in ruins. He now attacks the dwarven halls of Stonefast and has stolen the heartstone which powers their magical furnaces. It is forged from the hearts of a dozen ancient red dragons and a crushed neutron star.
Journeying into Undermountain, the heroes recover a replacement and find the witch queen of frost capable of battling the invincible fire demon guarding the dwarven halls.
Her power is temporarily hidden as Zark was about to steal it for his diabolical purposes. The heroes confront him in the ancient Temple of Sekhmet for control of the book of ice magic. Long dead spirits warn them of the power of the ancient red Dragon who continues to elude them and ravage the lands.
The heroes defeat Zark and save the dwarven kingdom. All seems well in the land, but legends say Zark cannot be fully destroyed while his instruments of evil yet live.
