Denny Creek/Tinkham Road., North Bend, WA
I'm crossing my fingers that this weekend will be during the brief period of the winter that Franklin Falls freezes over.
The 70ft drop of these falls is a pretty spectacular falls any time of year, but I can only imagine the beauty of it when frozen.
Expect snow/ice on the trail, but this is a well travelled trail and should not require snowshoes, but spikes of some sort are highly recommended. It's an easy hike, just 1 mile from trailhead to falls, however during this time of year parking can be up to 1 mile further away from the trailhead... We can do some additional miles by hiking up Denny creek a bit.. another 1.25 miles or so from the trailhead is the Slide Rock area of Denny creek, another fun destination.
Note: Depending on conditions an other things, this MAY get moved to Sunday the 15th.
More details to come before Christmas.
Somewhat recent transplant from MN, looking for excuses to get out and about
