When walking with Take a Hike, you'll find us a genial, friendly group. We enjoy walking in and around Hampshire taking in the outstanding natural beauty of Hampshire and its surrounding counties. Get some fresh air, enjoy good company and see interesting places, wildlife and scenery. We try to walk in all weather conditions wherever possible and where its safe to do so.
Some walks may included a visit to a National Trust property or other venue of interest such as gardens, castle, museum or exhibition.
We are open to all aged 18 or over. To our four legged friends, you are more than welcome on the walks as long as you are social with other dogs.
Our intention is to organise walks suitable for those who are comfortable with walking 8 to 12 miles at a moderate pace. Each walk will vary in length and terrain. We normally stop somewhere along the route, typically halfway, for lunch, with a short coffee break along the route, we always try to end the walk at a pub or tea room, to have a natter and some refreshments
There's a charge of £1.00 per walk per person (including guests) to cover the running costs.
This group or any involved with it has no public liability insurance and as such we cannot be held responsible for you along the route, and your participation is at your own risk. We expect you to be physically fit and able to complete the posted distance.
All members must provide a recognisable picture of them self. This is so that we can look out for you and welcome you at any events you attend.
Please only join Take a Hike if you are committed to attending walks. Members who are inactive on the website for more than 3 months/ have a no show or cancel to often will be removed from the group. This is to ensure the group has active members. Please note that if you are trying to use this group in order to promote your 'MEETUP' or business then you will be removed.
We also on occasion plan on doing long distance linear walks like The Avon Valley Path, The Hangers Way, and The Clarendon Way.
