Today's Western medicine is a huge challenge for everyone. Whether it's finding doctors that are compassionate, professional and competent or navigating the insurance world today. Many people are seeking alternative treatment or a combination of Western and Eastern medicine. There is so much research to do.
Our health is the number one most important thing when it comes down to it. So many patients are treated very poorly by doctors and staff at one time or another. I have heard story after terrible story of patients who are treated badly by the people in medical community that are supposed to be helping them. This usually happens when someone has a health problem or concern.
Society puts physicians on pedestals and more often than not we tolerate the bad treatment we receive because we have been conditioned to do so.
This is the thing. We need to begin to say, ENOUGH. Those doctors and medical professionals who are ego- driven need to take the chip off their shoulders and come from a place of love. If they all did that then imagine how much better it would be?
Now, about health insurance companies. In today's climate how does one navigate insurance, communicate to insurance companies, get the most out of the insurance they have?
What this group is about is to share experiences, resources and advise with others. This is not a group to just complain for the sake of complaining but to instead support each other and talk about ways we can change how things are in the health care industry. "As a society we decide what we will and will not accept. When enough people say that change is necessary it begins to happen." This is about initiating change...being your own best advocate, learning, growing changing and taking control of your life now.
There will be informative guest speakers and times to weigh in on your thoughts.
This meet up is part of Mindful Spirit, a company who's mission is to lend a hand to others on their journey of growth in mind, body and spirit. While Mindful Spirit is NOT a non profit organization we are mindful to keep charges reasonable so that anyone can afford to join us. BUT that said if the cost is a hardship, pay what you can for a meeting or meditation. Do note that this is not a non-profit organization. I have expenses of running a small business...rent, office expenses, etc...but I don't want someone NOT coming because they can't afford it.
