This isn't a real, physical MeetUp. It's a place where you can post your suggestions, including any details you know of, as a comment. If it's something a particular organizer enjoys, and it meshes with their schedule, they may decide to post it as a MeetUp and make it official. Or, if you're going to an event and would like to geek out with a fellow nerd, just ask if anyone else is going to an event, and you can make plans together from there.
Once we have other Organizers, I'm going to ask them all to RSVP as "Going" so that comments are flagged for you. And you have a chance to look at Suggestions and decide if it's something you'd like to do as an organizer.
This is essentially a forum thread to post suggestions for physical MeetUps. This site does have forums. But, it doesn't notify you of forum responses. However, it does notify everyone who is listed as "Going" to a MeetUp of any comments or changes to that MeetUp. So, I made a MeetUp specifically for Suggestions so that I can receive notifications of any ideas members have for meetings.
We discovered that we hadn't been getting notifications since the last update. So, I contacted the dev's and this is their response:
I’m sorry to read that your members and yourself aren’t getting notifications regarding comments to a Meetup in your emails.
We recently made some changes to the way we notify our members. Now, if push notifications are activated on any of your mobile devices, you will no longer receive emails that correspond to those notifications.
You can see your devices listed here: http://www.meetup.com/account/mobile
To begin receiving all emails again, you can log into the Meetup app on your mobile device and switch off push notifications. Please know that the default setting for push notifications in the Meetup app is ‘On,’ so if you would prefer to be contacted via email for a given notification, be sure that the push setting is ‘Off’ for that specific notification.
If you believe push notifications may be activated on a device that you no longer use, please let me know so that I can deactivate it from here.
To change your push notifications settings:
Tap the Profile icon
Tap the three dots and tap Manage notifications
Tap Push notifications
Select your settings preferences or tap the white dot and turn off to deactivate push notifications
I hope this helps!
Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you moving forward, Smiles. I’m always happy to assist.
