What we're about

This is a group for blind and visually impaired individuals. Come here to meet other blind people and to use adaptive technology and learn about services available to the vision impaired community. Basic Computer Class: Learning the Keyboard functions, commands and Microsoft word. Integration of various Screen Reading Software, such as, Jaws, NVDA and Zoom Text. One hour of Keyboard training, after each lesson an Assessment is given. Braille Class: Students will learn the Braille Alphabets, Punctuations, Alphabetic Word Signs, Short Form Words, Numbers, Contractions and how to read and write Braille. The Braille Class consist of 30 minutes of Reading and Writing. Peer Support Group: Peer Support occurs when people provide knowledge, experience, emotions, Social or Practical help to others. This group meets on Thursday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Arts and crafts: This class will be forming soon, which will consist of Knitting, Crocheting and learning how to make Tie. Blankets The class will meet on Tuesday’s from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
