how long have you been 100% natural and why did you decide to go natural

It's only been 2 months. Been wanting to do it since I was 20 yrs old; I am now 36. I can say it is more of a spiritual journey for me. Mind, body and soul. It felt very freeing to embrace my natural hair and start to learn how to take care of this overly thick, very curly, coursely dry hair! lol! I love it! There's a lot I need to know about hydration. Well, I guess I did enough research on it to know, but my hair is still healing from the abuse I gave it the last couple of years. I would love to learn from all of you! I've went through a few things (trials) these last couple of years and I allowed myself to be unhealthy and let myself go (weight and hair). I'm on a transition to complete natural living.

what is the one thing that frustrates you with your natural hair

The unbelievable dryness of my hair. I'm grateful for the thickness and curliness, but it does not help the dry situation. But I'm slowly hydrating myself again through coconut cream and the foods I put into my body. It is truly helping.

How did you hear about our group

Actually, I was looking through some meetup groups for a friend of mine who is grieving. I thought maybe I could fine a group for her of people going through the same things she's going through. Then I saw this group off to the left of my screen and I screamed! Yes! :) This one's for me! I actually won't be returning to Tampa until next year, so I don't even know if I'm allowed to join this group. :(

What are your expectations from this group

I would love and appreciate a sisterhood of women who are willing to share wisdom on the care of natural hair....and support for those "not so happy days". :) I hope to get to know someone who also may have info on the foods that are best for me. I've been alone on my research and journey. I've gotten some good info....hopefully I can verify it and get even more. Overall, I hope to get to know some great people!

Hi, I'm Angela. I'm excited about this group! Did the BC 2mos ago. It was such a freeing moment. I am now as I was born to be. I've always had long relaxed hair. It's now 2 inches! I'm 36 and had an urge to do this since I was 20 yrs old! I love it!
