What we're about

If you have a travel bucket list, this is the group that can help you check off the places on that list. Carnival in Rio, Oktoberfest in Munich, hiking in the French Alps, a cruise through Antarctica?

Some of our trips we find already arranged by travel companies, other trips we put together ourselves. We know how to travel "off the beaten path". Often we combine an "off the shelf" trip with an addon that we put together ourselves.

If you would like to travel to the most exciting places in the world and sharing those travel stories with others of like mind, this is the group for you.

Come join us.

The Amalfi coast of Italy Oct 2016
Needs a date and time

Needs a location

Based upon input from group members it seems that there is a lot of interest in the Amalfi Coast of Italy. This one week visit would be great standing alone and a perfect add on to the place to spend a few days prior to the separately scheduled transatlantic crossing back to Ft Lauderdale on Oct 8 on Princess cruise lines. The town of Sorrento is one of my favorite places in Italy. Sorrento was a port on the Bay of Naples, used by the Greeks around 600BC and later by the Romans. The town is surrounded by lemon groves hundreds of years old and is the source of that tasty libation lemoncello. Not only is it a cool ancient town that is clean and safe, it is ideally located for touring the Amalfi Coast as well as other cool sites nearby. In about half an hour on a train you can be at the gate of Pompeii or Herculean. A short boat ride takes you to the isle of Capri. Sorrento is the gateway to the Amalfi Coast which is the area between Sorrento and Salerno. We can hook up an Italian Cooking class for those with a culinary inclination. Italian language classes are also available. I should be able to put together a week long visit that would cost less than $100 per day per person in a clean safe and comfortable environment. I am working on the details now. The date would be from about Oct 2 until we leave to board the ship in Rome on Oct 8. You could do the Amalfi Coast without doing the Transatlantic crossing from Rome to Ft Lauderdale. Of course it would be more cost effective to do both if you have the time. Please let me know if you are interested in this week long Italian Adventure. A date for a meetup to discuss the trip will be set after more details are gathered.
