Obama/Biden High Speed Rail counter-rally

President Obama and VP Biden will be announcing $2.5 Billions dollars of new "stimulus" spending at the Bob Martinez Sports Center at the University of Tampa on Thursday, Jan 28, 2010. We are protesting this low-value, high-cost, deficit increasing and unwanted spending. We all need to be prepared in case we are asked questions by a reporter. The American Dream Coalition has an excellent paper, entitled Why Florida Should Not Build High Speed Rail, which summarizes the reasons why the proposed rail project will be an extremely low-value White Elephant that should be reject. Please prepare yourself by by reading this paper before the rally. The Rally is from 10:30 AM until 1 PM. Traffic conditions will be difficult. I recommend planning on arriving around 10AM. The Rally point is at the intersection of North Boulevard and W Kennedy. (See the Google Map.)

Here is a custom Google Map: http://tinyurl.com/yf...
This map shows the location of the rally point as well as parking areas near the rally point. John Hendrix will be at the rally point. Please follow his directions, it is important that we conduct a civil, orderly rally. Bring your signs. Bring video cameras (e.g., a flip Camera, Kodak Zi8 or equivalent.) Note: The rally point will not be the Bob Martinez Sports Center. Do not forget to bring water.

It was self-satisfying and worth waiting over 3 hrs @ the corner of N Blvd & Kennedy to wave my American flag & hold up my signs, especially the "YOU LIE" sign as BHO's motorcade passed by only a couple of feet from me. He may have pretended not to notice the droves of hundreds of Patriots gathered together, once again - but we were seen, we've always been seen and we will continue to be seen and heard, despite the contemptuous, condescending attitude of "the D.C. big 3" towards WE THE PEOPLE. If nothing else, they have given us enormous strength & unity.

    We will prevail.

My Father and my 17 year old son, (kept him out of public school to attend this event) attended the rally. with me. We witnessed one guy (whom we assumed was a paid bully planted by either SEIU or ACORN) trying to insult our intellegence by calling our group obscene names, and proved unsuccessful in starting an an argument with us. We all need to watch out for these thugs and be prepared to NEVER ENGAGE with them. The "left" would love nothing more than to inject violence into our peacful gatherings.. Other than that isolated incident, I think the rally went smoothly, I just hoped more patriots could have attended.

I'm guessing there were about 100 people, would have hoped that more people would have participated but the ones that were there had great signs and were energized.

A little disappointed by the amount of Tea Partiers that did not show up. I would have thought that 12 hours after such a pathetic State of the Union address the Patriots would have been there in the thousands? It just baffles me.

I am always inspired by the turn-outs for our events. I think they are beginning to "hear us now!"

I was there and thought it was well attended. 200 to 300. Very good signs and lots of enthusiasm. I brought a friend and this was his first time and said he would go to the next one. It was fun and effective I thought.

We were proud to be there and proud that so many like minded people took time out from their busy lives to attend with us. We were gratified at the balanced TV coverage by Channel 13, News and Channel 10, news. I eavesdropped as a lady from Channel 10 was talking over their live shot as the President's motorcade passed and was very impressed with her balance and fairness. I believe that is due to the professionalism shown by TEA Party patriots.

Finally met John and Sharon, a real treat. Met so many new people. Thought we had a lot of thought provoking signs. Took a lot of pictures w/cell phone even got motorcade. Glad I went. Sheila Harris

PS Channel 13 Fox interviewed John H. for a real long time.... wonder how much will end up on cutting floor? He did a real good job. I still have Sharon's interview, she did well also.
