• Breakaway Cafe Ride - Probably Carrboro or Maybe Mebane, TBD
Route to Carrboro (probably and via Collins Mountain/ Old Greensboro/Wildcat Creek/White Cross/Butler/Dodson X to Daryland, if you want to back track us from WP) or Mebane (below) but the group may choose another distance and destination if desired. Start at Breakaway with a meet up at 9:45-ish and roll out at 10:00 AM after coffee(?) and Danielle's baked goods(?) to get us buzzing. Break at Open Eye or Filiment and return to Breakaway. Pace around 18-19 MPH and if the group is willing and able we'll work on paceline riding and a rotating through and off double paceline. This is a no drop recovery ride and pace! Please let me know if you plan on coming, we can be a bit flexible on the start or can meet you. (A good spot coming from WP is River and Jones Ferry, leaving at the same time as we leave). BA Mebane 66 mile (Carrboro ~53 miles) http://tarwheels.net/route/27488109 http://tarwheels.net/pdf/27488109 http://tarwheels.net/csv/27488109 Please don't forget the waiver thing as well!! http://tarwheels.net/ewaiver And please take the time to review the ride rules.

    This event was canceled.
  • A- Short-Pull Ride (55-75 @ ~20 mph)
This is a pace-line training ride emphasizing the group. There will be 2-6 competitive segments(sprints and/or climbs) with regrouping afterward. This is not a hammer ride or race simulation. Riders should take short pulls (30-90 seconds) at the front so the group self-regulates its pace. If you're having a bad day please take extremely short or no pulls in order to hang with and not slow the group. But don't suck wheel all day and then contest competitive sections. We're all domestiques on this ride. • Important to know If you are not a Tarwheels member, please complete and submit this waiver: http://tarwheels.net/ewaiver

Included each week is a little sightseeing around the Triangle area. Distance: 20+ miles, depending on interest. Ride usually starts in south Durham in front of Rise Biscuits & Donuts (8200 Renaissance Pkwy). Sometimes we'll move to other starting locations, to get in a variety of trail views.
