A 12km hike on path and minor road alongside Backwater reservoir in the Angus glens. I would recommend trail trainers because of the hard surfaces, with the exception of one part where wellies might be better to cross a very boggy stream (consider it, or at the very least, take a spare change of shoes/socks. Gaiters definitely needed for that part alone.

Don't confuse this with Blackwater reservoir or you'll end up in a completely different part of the country!
Good parking at the start point in a public car park.
Please bring warm clothing/waterproofs too, along with plenty of food and fluids.
Please be aware that hillwalking carries a certain amount of danger of personal injury or death.
