This group is for anyone who has an interest in Chinese Tea Ceremonies, Asian teas, herbs, wellness, fun social gatherings and conversations with like minded folks. Whether you know less than a little or more than a lot about tea, herbs, ritual ceremony, we invite you to come check out this social gathering! We plan to start small with Friday evening gatherings, and expand out to some weekend dates as schedules allow, to be accessible to varying schedules. We will tell a short history of tea, perform a Chinese tea ceremony, discuss information about various teas, and provide teas for tasting. We encourage all who attend to enjoy conversation about tea and life, and would love to hear about your families and culture's history and use of tea! There is a suggested donation of $10. In this event we will be tasting two teas:
Xiao Qing Gan Puer tea (小青柑普洱茶) : Xinhui mandarin orange peel of Xiao Qing Gan (junior green orange) acts as an antioxidant and enhances digestion and respiratory tract. The ripe Pu’er tea from Yunnan is good for regulating the balance of the stomach, may help reducing high blood pressure.
Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe大红袍) : a rock tea grown in the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, China. It is a heavily oxidized, dark oolong tea with health benefits of getting rid of lactic, uric acid, and other harmful substances from the body. Tea polyphenols and vitamin C helps blood circulation and prevent arteriosclerosis therefore lowering hypertension and coronary heart diseases
