What we're about

Team Glow is a women's cycling group and network based in Greater Manchester. Our aim is to bring women together and get out riding our bikes! We cater for everyone from relative novices through to more experienced riders. Our rides are generally for women on road bikes (although we do have the occasional off-road option) and range in distance from 15 - 100+ miles.

We use Meet Up for our members to sign up for rides and other events. We welcome prospective members as guests - please feel free to join for three months and come to try a couple of rides to see if you like us before you decide to join Team Glow as a paying member!

Participation in Team Glow as either a paid member or with guest status assumes that you have read and agree to the Terms of Conditions of Participation / Membership (http://www.teamglow.net/membership.html).

Our Rides
Rides start out from a variety of locations around Greater Manchester and the North West. There are 4 grades:

Introductory – for riders new to Team Glow or who would like to build confidence. These rides are over flat or undulating terrain and normally about 25 miles. Speed is adjusted according to the ability of the group. A typical ride is from Chorlton to Tatton Park and back.

Moderate - B – for riders or anyone wishing to build up distance and who can cope with a few hills. An example ride might be 30 - 40 miles at a speed of 10 - 12 mph on rolling terrain including short uphill and downhill sections.

Intermediate - C – for riders who want to go a little further and already have some hill confidence or are keen to develop. A typical ride would be about 50 miles. Speed will vary, maybe 12mph average (depending on terrain). If you are new to hills, check the description.

Advanced - D – for riders with experience. A typical route would be over 60 miles with speed varying according to terrain and the group. Some routes may be undulating; others may be more suited to confident hill climbers/descenders.
