This meetup is for anyone fascinated by fungal intelligence and interested in exploring the potential of teaming with fungi to nourish, heal, remediate, and build.
From Aug 3 to Oct 27, we're hosting Intelligent Fungi, an exhibit, research, and workshop series on Governors Island. Come check out mycelium running in action and join us for a mushroom workshop or event led by our amazing line up of educators, citizen mycologists, soil builders, artists on topics from mushroom identification, to myco-arts, mushroom cultivation, and mycoremediation!
Teaming with Fungi Meetup is run by Curiouseed, an education studio with a mission to inspire nature connections through playful, experimental, and hands-on experiences with fungi.
We look forward to growing with y’all. Join us, for the mycelium!
Fungi are all around us, and yet we still know so little about them. Often unseen, the relational qualities of fungi are dynamic and diverse.
Join us on September 30 for an interactive talk by our guest speaker Mary Berecka to better understand these powerful cohabitants. We will examine fungi's various ecological roles and glean some inspiration for shaping human communities.
About the Speaker
Mary is a queer mycology/ecology nerd. After many years of arboreal adoration, she discovered fungi. That initial spore continues to provide inspiration to her, evidence of the ways fungi reveal interconnected nature. Mary is particularly interested in community resilience, local food systems, and soil health. In 2019, she was a guest lecturer for the John Cage Mycology Weekend and currently works in content and creative strategy for North Spore.
Space is limited for a more interactive experience.
We kindly ask you to rsvp on Eventbrite to help us manage the headcout. Thank you!
