Notes from the last two Tech & Social Change Baltimore meetings are now available.
- Maggie Cawley spoke at our April meetup about GIS and mapping. She showcased several examples of GIS being used for social good and then walked through how to use a few free tools to create simple maps. Notes from her session are available here.
- At the May meeting, Scott Paley spoke about websites and how organizations can get more from them. Notes from his session are available here.
The next Tech and Social Change Baltimore meeting will be Thursday, June 6 at 6:30 pm. Dylan Kinnett, the Manager of Web and Social Media at The Walters Art Museum, and Dominic McDevitt-Parks, a member of Wikimedia DC, are joining us to introduce Wikipedia, teach us how nonprofit organizations can add information about their organizations and causes important to them, and discuss how The Walters has been using Wikipedia to fulfill its mission. RSVP online.
Also, for those of you who are using WordPress, Angelique Wegner is teaching a session at MeshBaltimore called "Introduction to WordPress" on June 1. This would be a great place to learn the basics!
