Thanks, Kate, for promoting the Mesh SkillShare and my WP session! =)

Those interested in possibly attending, note that I'll be giving away one pass to the June SkillShare on my blog next week. If you want a link, please ping me off list. Also, please feel free to send me your questions or concerns with getting familiar with WordPress; I'd love to incorporate the questions of real users into the lesson plan.

Finally, if you're already gotten your feet wet with WordPress, I'd love to hear from you about what knowledge would have made your first week, month, year of using your blog and site easier and more rewarding.

If you want the link to my giveaway or to share your questions or hard-won lessons, my email is [address removed]

Hope to see some of you at the SkillShare, otherwise look forward to seeing you at the next Tech & Social Change Meetup!

Cheers / Angelique

Hi, Everyone!

Notes from the last two Tech & Social Change Baltimore meetings are now available.

The next Tech and Social Change Baltimore meeting will be Thursday, June 6 at 6:30 pm. Dylan Kinnett, the Manager of Web and Social Media at The Walters Art Museum, and Dominic McDevitt-Parks, a member of Wikimedia DC, are joining us to introduce Wikipedia, teach us how nonprofit organizations can add information about their organizations and causes important to them, and discuss how The Walters has been using Wikipedia to fulfill its mission. RSVP online.

Also, for those of you who are using WordPress, Angelique Wegner is teaching a session at MeshBaltimore called "Introduction to WordPress" on June 1. This would be a great place to learn the basics!

Kate
