Bannering the theme “Building Communities To Accelerate the Innovation Economy,” the SlingshotPH: MAKER Edition will gather in one venue the 12 FabLabs that the DTI has supported over the last two years, makerspaces, enablers, the local maker community and academic institutions that are operating these FabLabs.

With over a hundred participants, the SlingshotPH: MAKER Edition aims to:
1. Assemble a much-needed Meet-up among Philippine Fablabs to support exchange of learning & collaboration, and come up with a unified FabLab agenda

2. Promote the growth and networking of local makers

3.Strengthen partnership and linkages among the DTI, the different FabLabs & makerspaces, the local maker community and other stakeholders to help accelerate an innovation economy
The 3-day program will be packed with lectures and demo-workshops for makerspaces and enablers to network and learn from each other. We will also be inviting makers/innovators from the international community to share the types of projects that they are doing, how FabLabs/makerspaces can be better utilized to foster innovation, and how to effectively network.
