Donation to DonorsChoose.org Benefiting STEM Education in Baltimore City Public Schools

In late 2013 TechBreakfast launched an initiative to help fund Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) initiatives in Baltimore City Schools through the DonorsChoose.org platform. Since we started that initiative, we have funded NINETEEN projects (http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/viewChallenge.html?id=321146&historical=true) and the momentum continues.

Here are the current open projects we are supporting - some of which are expiring soon:

(http://www.donorschoose.org/project/robots-r-us/1197285/?challengeid=321146) - Mrs. Overstreet's Technology project at Monarch Academy Baltimore for the new and improved LEGO Mindstorms robot kit and guide, and EV3 in order to competitively compete in the FLL Robotics competitions.

• Math Fluency for Special Needs Kids: Just $391 to go! (http://www.donorschoose.org/project/math-fluency-for-special-needs-kids/1198868/?challengeid=321146) - Ms. Hall's Supplies project at Sharp-Leadenhall School for materials such as Hot Dots Math Quiz Cards, Subtraction Tower of Math Game and Addition Tower of Math Game to support their understanding of number sense and their fluency with basic math facts.

• Pre-K Scientists - Help Us Do Research: Just $288 to go! (http://www.donorschoose.org/project/pre-k-scientists-help-us-do-research/1185046/?challengeid=321146) - Ms. Gutshall's Books project at Holabird Elementary School for 21 books such as "Life Cycles" and "Fantastic Frogs", and exploratory materials such as Animals from Across the Land to learn about animals during our Animals Science Research Project unit.
