Scratch & Raspberry Pi

TechWorks Gaston

This Saturday Morning Tech session is perfect for students with any range of experience with programming and using hardware. The session starts off simply, and the teacher will explain basic hardware concepts such as electricity and creating circuits. Students will then learn to build circuits, program blinking lights, and use buttons. The lesson uses the programming language Scratch to program the hardware (buttons, lights). The students will learn about electricity and circuits as well as programming concepts such as “if statements”. The lesson culminates with each group of students combining what they learned to create a game. Each student will get to take home their own Raspberry Pi at the end of the session.
