Join us for our first event of 2019! We're hosting a Women in Tech Panel to discuss some of the challenges & successes that a few influential women have seen in the tech space, and what companies can do to empower their female employees and ensure their company has a well rounded perspective.

There will be drinks, refreshments, and networking! All attendees must BRING A VALID FORM OF PHOTO I.D. for security check-in or you will not be permitted entry. See you there!

~Iris Shields | Senior UX/ UI Architect, AutoGrid

Iris is originally from The Netherlands where she studied Information Technology Majoring in Interaction Design. Something we nowadays call UX. After a 3 year stint on the Back End (DB design and development) in a bank in Brussels she decided her heart was on the Front End. From Belgium to the Washington DC and then to California she was able to maintain a hybrid trajectory as Front End Developer/ UI designer to Lead UX Developer/ Designer to Senior UX/ UI Architect.

~Prabitha Ganesh | Director of Platform Infrastructure, Box

Prabitha Ganesh is a seasoned executive and technologist with 20+ years of experience ranging from software development and technical operations to engineering management. She currently serves as Dir. of Platform Infrastructure at Box Inc. and one of her ambitious goal is to increase women’s participation within the TechOps organization. In addition, Prabitha serves as the co-chair for Box’s Women-In-Tech initiative, purpose of which is providing a platform for development and networking opportunities for women in the technology space. Prior to Box Inc., Prabitha worked at companies such as PayPal, HP, Ellie Mae, Ericsson in various engineering positions.

~Dr. Anita Jindal | Director of Engineering, NetApp

Dr. Anita Jindal is a seasoned business leader with passion for technology and products. She is currently Dir. of Engineering at NetApp, and prior to that held a Sr. Dir. role at Oracle. At NetApp, she leads data science platform and application teams. Her teams have delivered first data science, and microservices platforms at NetApp based on big data & cloud technologies. She has held various engineering leadership positions at Sun where she led her engineering teams to deliver the first specifications and reference implementations for Java Web Services technologies. Anita worked as a Resident Research Associate at Argonne National Lab, where she did extensive research on the application of parallel computing to deduction systems, an area of AI. Anita has multiple software patents and publications and has been a speaker & moderator at STEM and Women In Technology events. Anita is currently serving as a Board Member for STEMentors Silicon Valley that promotes STEM for underrepresented children. Anita holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

~Dr. Renu Tewari | Director of Engineering, Cloudera

Renu Tewari is currently the Director of Engineering at Cloudera for Stream Processing and Streaming Analytics focusing on all things related to data in motion. Previously, she led the Kafka team at Linkedin and was a Distinguished Research Staff Member at IBM Research working on large scale distributed systems, data management and clustered filesystems. She has a PhD in Computer Science from UT Austin and is on the Big Data advisory board for Rutgers University. She is a strong advocate for women in technology and a champion of STEM for girls. In her spare time she actively volunteers for non-profits associated with childhood education and health while harboring a secret passion for theater and stand-up comedy.
