I'm not sure that I'll attend future demo events. This event started late, many of the presentations were poorly organized, and the session organizer said that questions about business models would not be allowed in the future.

Had a great time at the Meetup! I am looking forward of months to come. Perfect amount of time per presenter, but wouldn't mind if there a few more. It was good to see/feel the energy in the room.

Some of the presenters didn't clearly explain what their business or social objectives were but with a bit of prompting and questions this became clearer. I like the NY Meetup rule that was mentioned regarding revenue model questions. It would be appropriate to insitute the same rule for future Meetups.

I thought it was a great launch event. I think the idea about "No revenue model questions" is a brilliant idea. The discussions should be more about what we CAN do versus what we can't. I felt like the questions were generally geared towards poking holes in the startup.

Great turnout, great topics! Creating an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to pitch their product/service/business is something Chicago definitely needs more of!! Thanks for putting it together Brittany!

Hi - I am unable to pay online as I am visitor to the United States, and my debit is not being accepted for some reasons. Can I add my name to the list and pay when I am at the security?

    August 7, 2011

  • Brittany

    Hi Daniel,
I just need their first name + last name for security. We hope to see you in September!
    Thanks!

    August 7, 2011

  • Brittany

Great question - yes! Please include your first and last name so we can add it to security. Please add your guest's name too. I'll send a notice to all those attending with full security details tomorrow. Thanks!

Do you need full names for the door person? Some downtown Meetups ask for full name, so I'm just wondering.

    Hi Josh,
We're looking to build Chicago Tech Meetup into a larger community here in Chicago, just like http://www.meetup.com/ny-tech/ in New York City. So not only are you getting a great show of demos and broad-shoulder-class networking, you're helping build the Chicago Technology network! If you are unable to cover the $10 ticket, please reach out to me at [masked]. Thanks!

Why does this cost money? What does the $10 cover?
