The Israeli Data-Science scene was very active in 2016. Increasingly larger investments in young startups, mainly due to Israel's potential economic outlook, fostered a more positive disposition amongst foreign investors as well as the US-based DS job market. (See the "2016 Data Science Salary Survey by John King and Roger Magoulas": http://www.oreilly.com/data/free/files/2016-data-science-salary-survey.pdf). Numerous corporations added Data Scientists and/or Data Engineers to their HR headcount while many DS professionals, which may have been previously vigilant about changing jobs, were dynamically pursuing new roles with higher salaries.}
On the other hand, when hiring, corporations had to vigorously promote the attractiveness of working for them, considering that potential candidates may well have several job offers to consider. HR managers must also be willing to hire DS professionals at a junior level with an outlook of training them, inter-alia in-house.
In the second part we are going to have a job Fair. We are fully motivated and charged to do some tech fair meetups to help employers meet the right data science talent in tech city Tel Aviv. This is a Call for Employers/Sponsors who wish to pitch on stage at our Next Meetup. So please get in touch asap to be part of the first tech job fair meetup of 2017 :)
We will have an "expo" setup with many startups and corporations. They will each have a table and be demonstrating their services/products/tech, sharing any job opportunities (contract/part time/full time).
