Join Tennessee Wild as Kevin Calhoon leads a birding walk starting at 8 am. Kevin is the Assistant Curator of forests at the Tennessee Aquarium. He is also the aquarium's avian expert. We will start the day on the slopes of Lookout Mountain at the Cravens House, and hike from there on the NPS trails. Please bring binoculars and be prepared to hike a couple of miles on forested trails.
Kevin led a birding trip for us last year on the John Muir Trail. He is an expert at identifying birds by their song, and has bird watched at Cravens House for years. This trip will coincide with spring migration, so we should see many species of songbirds migrating between the tropics and their northern breeding range, as well as birds that breed here in east Tennessee.
Registration for this outing will begin on April 4, 30 days before the outing. If you attended Kevin's outing last year, please allow another Meetup attendee to have the opportunity to attend this outing. Thanks!
