Join us for a easy hike at Montgomery Bell State Park, according to the "60 Hikes within 60 miles of Nashville" book the hike is about 7 miles. I think it is a bit less. There are no major hills or tricky footing, or water crossings. We will travel portions of the Overnight trail, Ore Pit Loop Trail, and some connecting trails. We will see Creech Hollow and Lake Woodhaven lakes, pass the overnight Woodland shelter, one or two cemeteries, an old stone church, and a log cabin replica. We also will pass through and area that was all torn up for ore pit mining many years ago. Part of the trail follows old horse and wagon trails.
We will take our time and enjoy the scenery and take photos. I have done the full trail several times before and always enjoy it.
Meet us at the Park Office at nine, or at the carpool location at Walmart on Charlotte Pike:
