Mindfulness Meditation and Daily Practice

  • to
  • This location is shown only to members

  • While mindfulness meditation is not a panacea, it is a well researched and safe method for reducing anxiety and stress, improving the symptoms of depression, increasing our ability to focus and problem solve, and enhancing emotional resilience. There is one catch. To reap the full benefits of mindfulness meditation, it must be practiced on a regular basis. The most recent research indicates that after 8 weeks of daily practice, most practitioners experience an improvement in their overall sense of well-being. In this 90-minute introductory workshop you will learn how to meditate using sound, physical sensations and the breath and how to practice meditation at home. We will also watch a short video teaching with Mingyur Rinpoche, author of the Joy of Living: Unlocking the Secret and Science of Happiness, on exploring awareness with the breath.

For those of you who joined us for the introductory meditation workshop in May, this session will be a helpful follow up with more guided meditation, information about daily practice and a different video teaching with Mingyur Rinpoche. No worries if you did not attend the May workshop, this session will provide you with the necessary information to begin a mindfulness mediation practice.

We hope you can join us!  There is no fee for this workshop. Donations of any amount are welcome.

    Best wishes along your path,

    Amy Reyer and Max Maksimik
