• What we'll do
This event allows America Sign Language interpreters, Deaf community members, and interpreting students to discuss topics, events, articles, and scholarship within the field of sign language interpreting. TerpTalk is a great opportunity to create new connections, network, and engage in discourse on topics relevant to the work being done by sign language interpreters. Light refreshments will be served.
• What to bring
Attendees should bring a copy of the content that will be circulated for the discussion at each event.
• Important to know
Rules of the Event:
Respecting people's time, attention, personal choices, and personal boundaries is essential to creating safe and trusting communities. Be respectful in interactions with people and in content posted on the platform. Be Kind
Bullying, harassment, exploitation, and acts of hate undermine community building in safe spaces where people can trust one another. Building real relationships requires us to be more compassionate and kinder towards one another. Acts of bullying, harassment, exploitation, acts of hate, or other attempts to undermine safe community building will not be tolerated.
The article that Terp Talk will be discussing for this event is called, ""Beyond Ethics: Rules Verses Values for Sign Language Interpreters"
