As we get out of the summer lull, the activity in Tezos is heating up. We are starting a series of developer centric sessions to ease the onboarding onto Tezos and to kick this off, we have Arthur Breitman and Nomadic Labs introducing LIGO, the high level programming language for Tezos.
Non-technical advocates of Tezos can join others at the Lyceum Tavern nearby for the latest news and discuss new projects getting under way where developers can join later to meet members of the community.
This event is sponsored by TCF so no doubt there will be swag! Facilitation is generously covered by WorkOnBlockchain so if you are interested in becoming a blockchain wizard please check them out: workonblockchain.com
About LIGO talk:
- *Christian Rinderknecht*
In this talk, we shall present briefly the Tezos blockchain and
their smart contracts. We will argue that the native language for
writing smart contracts in Tezos, named Michelson, whilst
enjoying pleasant properties, has shortcomings that the LIGO
language aims at overcoming.
LIGO is a high-level programming language for smart contracts in
Tezos, that compiles to Michelson. It is developed in a
partnership between the companies Nomadic Labs and Marigold. We
will present some examples of smart contracts in LIGO and present
the objectives of Marigold about LIGO and layer-2 scaling.
