What are your favorite local Thai restaurants? (post links to restaurants if you know them)

Just moved to the area, so not sure yet.

What are your favorite Thai food dishes?

What a tough question! Spicy papaya salad (som tum), pad kra pao chicken, gang panang, pad see ewe, tom kha gai, and mango sticky rice.

Event times & places: if you have a preference, let us know: days/evenings, VA/DC/MD, other aspects.

Close to public transportation/metro is best for me.

Anything else we should know? Tell us something about yourself. Ideas include if you have been to Thailand, or speak Thai, or cook Thai, or some fun fact about you.

Thai cooking would be fun! I lived in Thailand for a year in the Lower Northern Region. I can speak some Thai, and am very willing to practice with members of any skill level. I'm new to the DC area, so I am looking forward to meeting new people as well.

I spent the last year teaching English in Northern Thailand through an international exchange program. I became very intrigued with Thai culture and food, and would like to continue learning about it in the DC area.
