What we're about

This is not just another over 55 group. We didn't get to this age without having a hobby or two. Imagine a group where everyone has the chance to spend time doing what they love *and* introducing it to others. Learn a new hobby, try a new recipe, head out to a museum you've never been to...but this time with someone who has an interest in, a passion for, the event. Maybe you have a passion for modern art...or you brew beer...or you love to crochet or cook; introduce others to your interest by setting up an event! Do you love wines? Set up an event at your favorite local winery and we'll all come along! Love cooking Italian? You can plan an event at your home where you cook and teach or have everyone meet at your favorite Italian place.

Before we can start to discover our areas of interest, let's have dinner! And we'll probably continue dinners throughout, so if you just want to meet new folks, come join us! Focus area for our dinner meetups will be Upper Montgomery County and vicinity; your planned meetups can be wherever you feel they need to be!

Think of the possibilities! You could develop a new hobby with the help of an expert, share something you love doing or just make new friends. I hope you'll join us soon.

American Craft Council, Craft Show

The Baltimore Convention Center

Based on feedback, we're going on Saturday, Feb. 23. I hope I'm not the only one interested in carpooling. From Wheaton, where I am, Google says it's about 40 minutes. Whichever plan is chosen, each individual is responsible for all other expenses that may include, food, beverages, and purchases. I have us ending at 5pm, but that's flexible, as is whether we break for lunch, eat on our way back, brings snacks or whatever. You can get ticket(s) in advance ($14 at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/american-craft-show-baltimore-february-22-24-2019-tickets-52494869568#tickets) or pay $16 the day of. Plan A: Carpool Meet at the Wheaton Metro parking garage (at 11 am) and decide which car(s) to use. Passengers contribute to gas and parking in Baltimore. How much each pays for gas depends on how many passengers there are. (The back seat in my car is too small to be comfortable for anyone for any length of time, so, if this option is chosen, I know I will be a passenger and I will contribute to gas and parking.) Plan B: On Your Own Each attendee drives themself to the Baltimore Convention Center. We'll meet in next to the escalators in the photo. Plan C I'm not sure what this is, and am open to suggestions. I don't know everything! Original post: Feb 22-24, Baltimore Convention Center I'm willing to go any one of the three days; it'll depend on interest/attendance. We can coordinate potential car-pooling as it gets nearer. The American Craft Council hosts craft shows around the country, and this is one of their showcase events. Learn about the process of creating, get inspired, and prepare to be wowed as we shop more than 550 of the best jewelry, clothing, furniture, and home decor artists from across the country. $16, and discount passes are available.
