Only time will tell whether this is a good idea, but I thought I would attempt to start a community supper club with the primary goal of meeting new people (and hopefully enjoying some half decent food too). I don't believe you should have to spend a lot on good food and entertainment so each event will cost £6.13 per person (£5 didn't sound quite enough) for a 3 course meal. The theory is that by not charging too much, it puts the focus on the company and takes some of the pressure off the chef!
I only have a small dining room so it's a max of 6 around the table. 4 or 5 guests plus the two of us if we are both around. It would be great if other members also embraced the hosting in future so feel free to set up your own events.
