Homebrew D&D5e

The Arena

This is going to be my first time as a DM with a homebrew story that I am making. So I ask if you are veteran player please be gentle and patient with me. My world is going to have a lot of magic and I am open to ANY races or classes, as long as I can see the basic stats to work with (note I may tweak some things to make it easier on me for the game). I am starting everyone at level 5, just for being able to attack twice and bonus of your classes and multi-class if desired. When you come, the following is required: *Please be familiar with where to find your character information as in knowing where you can find your saving throws and abilities checks. (I don't expect you to know everything in regards to your race/class(es)/background abilities/how the spell works & it's DC/feats that you take) *Dice, you need dice...you can always last minute buy some here at the store (being familiar with which dice is which, is a bonus!!;D) *Have a character figure. I am going to do layout for battles, to make it easier for everyone. If you can't get one in time, find something small enough that can fit in one square on the layout sheet that I will have. *Snack, gotta have snacks...you can buy some of these lovely items at the store. *Notebook, to keep track of notes to act as your character knowledge of what you learned. *Bonus: Have a character backstory: skeleton version, so that you can fill in where you came from in my world map and what part of my world's backstory has an effect on your character. **Please note I am VERY VERY willing to work with you on fleshing it out and where it correlates to this world. I am very big on doing it face to face. I am available to meet at the store: Saturday I can meet hour before we play or stay later after the game and Sunday 4-5pm (I have a regular appointment on Sundays at 2:30pm, that suppose to last an hour, but tend to run over on the time and it's in Great Neck.) I can possible stop by on Monday and Wednesday and Thursday 6pm-8pm** ***Note my homebrew world is a combination inspiration from RWBY/Tales of Vesparia/Critical Role/Relics & Rarity. I may use interesting interaction encounters used by Rat Queens on HyperRPG.*** **Please be aware, I am not going to try an imitate everything that Matt Mercer does on his show, but inspiration from it.** MOST IMPORTANTLY I WANT EVERYONE TO HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THIS GAME. IF ANY ISSUES ARISE, I WANT TO FIND A WAY TO ADDRESS IT SO THAT EVERYONE FEELS COMFORTABLE TO PLAY AT MY TABLE AND ESPECIALLY WITH ME. ~*~*In a none aggressive, public display type. I've been there when there was an issue at an old game table I played at and it was never properly handled by my DM; nor him willing to work one on one in person with me to make it better. That ruined the game for me and caused me to quite*~*~ (Picture is of me and my cute sidekick Nala playing D&D)
