Watercolor Artist Steve Gamburd Talk at Oak Park Library

Please join us as Oak Park watercolor illustrator Steven Gamburd talks about his art career, passion for watercolors and the comic book medium, what issues inspired the art, and will provide many examples of his art. Question and Answer session will follow his presentation.

Raised in Oak Park, Steven Gamburd began drawing comics at age 5, and developed a passion for watercolors into adulthood. He has exhibited his watercolors and illustrations in galleries, restaurants, art shows, and summer festivals for the last 20 years. Gamburd attended MSU, Lansing Community College, and Oakland Community College with an emphasis on studio art and art education.

He recently renovated the Phoenix Café in Hazel Park, a venue dedicated to art, music, poetry, open mic nights, concerts and meetings. As the Gallery Director and Event Coordinator at the Phoenix Café, he also performs with bands, exhibits art and teaches Watercolor Magic. Gamburd was a member of the Hazel Park Art Council and organized many fundraisers and major events over the past 4 years.
