"WHAT LIES BEHIND US AND WHAT LIES BEFORE US ARE TINY MATTERS, COMPARED TO WHAT LIES WITHIN US."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
We meet on Saturday for this meeting, not Sunday and hope to see you all Saturday, July[masked] at 2:15 p.m. at the Ashland Public Library, downstairs in the Guanajuato Room.
What we're about
Who are you?
The Ashland Writers' Group is for working writers who are serious about their professional development. It's a supportive space for constructive feedback that will help us deepen our relationship with our words and ourselves. Any aspect of the written word is welcome.
How we do it
Anyone with a written excerpt to present shall bring printed copies enough for those attending. Keep excerpts to 1500 words or less (4-5 pages double spaced; printing on both sides of the paper is ok; it saves trees). You'll read your piece aloud. We'll review silently for five minutes
and write our comments, then spend up to 15 minutes on free comment.
Common courtesy is to read, then listen. This work is about how you as an artist can move us from what you put on the page. Your reading is a forum to present your art and absorb the viewpoints of others, without any snarky retorts.
Please RSVP at the link on this announcement.
We meet twice a month. Please see the meeting announcement on the Meet Up - Ashland Writer's Group page for the date.
We're looking forward to hearing some of your work!
