Why are you interested in working with wood?

Growing up, my father was always working on some type of wood project. I was his helper on most things and he has always encouraged me to continue learning more about woodworking and trying new projects. Also, I just love creating beautiful things out of wood.

What do you want to learn?

I have mostly built things from plans or pre-existing designs. I'm looking to start doing some original design furniture pieces. I would also like to meet other folks in the Austin area who are interested in woodworking. I have found that most woodworkers are pretty open and willing to discuss techniques and ideas that have worked well, or maybe not worked well for them. This group sounds like a good forum for that.

Do you have skills already?

Yes. I would consider myself an intermediate woodworker.

Hello, My name is Frank. I've been woodworking as a hobby for about 20 years or so. I've built tables, chairs, jewelry boxes and various other items. I've lived in Austin for about 18years and just discovered Meetup groups.
