What we're about

The Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial R&D (BIRD) Foundation works to encourage and facilitate cooperation between U.S. and Israeli companies in a wide range of technology sectors and offers funding to selected projects. BIRD supports about 25 projects annually and has approved close to 950 projects over its 40-year history.
BIRD supports projects without receiving any equity or intellectual property rights, and funds of up to 50% of a projectโ€™s R&D budget, up to US$1M per project. BIRD funding is repaid as royalties from sales of products that were commercialized as a result of BIRD support. The Foundation shares the risk and does not require repayment if the project fails.
BIRD's scope extends to Agriculture, Communications, Drones, Life Sciences, Medical Equipment, Electronics, Electro-optics, Software, Homeland Security, Renewable and Alternative Energy, First Responders, Industry 4.0 and other sectors of the hi-tech industry.
BIRD Meetups will include: funding options for hi-tech companies and startups, meetings with BIRD grantees, optional meetings with U.S. company delegates, specialized seminars and more.
