How easy or difficult have you found it to be vegan, or to move in that direction? Is there a specific way that you would like to be supported by this group, or a discussion topic that you would especially appeal to you?

I started out as a vegetarian. A visit to an acupuncturist and a spiritual awakening lead me to be vegan. I still struggle to eliminate seafood out of my diet, but when I completely indulge in a vegan diet, I feel fulfilled on a cellular level. I am able to taste and smell things in a new light. I think that it's easiest for me to eat vegan when I'm at home, but since my mother doesn’t eat soy and I don’t eat meat, food doesn’t bring my family together anymore. Eating out is usually a challenge b/c severs usually don't know what ingredients the cook uses nor do they readily know what vegan, or dairy is. I have a desk drawer full of Dr. McDougall’s & Asian soups at work, and I’m looking to expand my selection. I hope to meet friends in Harford County that want to start up a veggie restaurant. Ha! More realistically, I’d like to be introduced to seasonal vegan lunch solutions. Bonus if they are soy-free, vegan, and are ready to eat in the office!

Introduction

Hello fellow kind foodies! What did you pack for lunch today?
