FEBRUARY 28TH DINNER EVENT will feature the talk BEING THE CHANGE, by GINNY ROBERTSON, who is the founder of ON PURPOSE NETWORKING for WOMEN, co-host of WOMANTALK LIVE radio show on WCBM, 680 AM, and publisher of ON PURPOSE WOMAN magazine.

The need for change in our world is becoming painfully obvious. If we are going to learn how to live at peace with ourselves and with others, with other nations, other species, and with our environment, there is much work to be done. We need to find new ways of communicating and relating to each other.

India's revered champion of justice and nonviolent revolution, Mahatma Gandhi, once said that we should be the change that we wish to see in the world. That sounds great, lofty and inspiring, but how do we put those ideas into concrete action? Ginny Robertson?s interactive presentation will help us to better understand how we can apply that wisdom in our own lives. Hope you will join us!

MONTHLY VEG MEETUP DISCUSSION GROUPS offer us a chance to gather in more intimate and less formal settings than does the monthly Earthsave potluck dinner/lecture series. Meetups are casual and are held in restaurants over great vegetarian food. Discussions include a variety of topics that support people in making healthier choices in diet and lifestyle. There are two different groups, one vegan and one vegetarian. Both groups welcome anyone who is interested in learning about healthier eating. For details, or to register and let others know you plan to attend, go to, or to

The next Vegetarian Meetup group will meet at the Kathmandu Kitchen in Towson on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 1 at noon. The restaurant features terrific Indian/Nepalise cuisine with lots of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, though the group members usually go for the buffet. The atmosphere at Kathmandu Kitchen is quiet and relaxing, and the wait staff is friendly and helpful.

One topic of discussion will be the meaning of phrase "be the peace that you wish to see in the world". How can we put Gandhi's words of wisdom into action in everyday life?
Group members are friendly and supportive. Please join us if you can!

EARTHSAVE TV: GOING GREEN WITH CARYN HARTGLASS offers us great cooking instruction at our convenience online. Caryn, who is Earthsave?s International?s executive director, has put together the second program in this mouth-watering series. She shows us how to make delicious, earth-friendly, plant-based burgers and other vegetarian sandwiches. This segment also includes a visit to Zen Burger restaurant in Manhattan, and an interview with its founder, who is planning on expanding nationally. Tune in at, but don?t watch on an empty stomach!

VEGETARIAN FRIENDS, a singles group, meets on the second Sunday of the month, 1 pm, usually in Baltimore area restaurants. Meet for lunch, fellowship, networking, sometimes hiking, and other fun activities. For more information or to find out where the group is meeting each month, contact Omi at (410)[masked] or [address removed].

FIRST SATURDAY VEGAN POTLUCK IN ELLICOTT CITY: Bonnie and Art Sorak host potluck dinners at their home in Ellicott City on the first Saturday of the month from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Please bring a vegan dish to share (store bought is fine) for the number in your party plus 6. Please RSVP via e-mail. There will be iced tea and filtered water to drink. Invite friends and the merely curious. Kids welcome! Contact Bonnie at [address removed]. Call (410)[masked] to RSVP and for directions.

EARTHSAVE MEMBERSHIP is a great way for you to contribute to our important educational mission. All members may receive a free 12-issue subscription to Vegetarian Times magazine and Earthsave?s national bi-monthly newsletter. Folks who attend meetings may check out books from our well stocked EarthSave Library, they may place literature on our networking tables, may make a brief announcement to the group, and receive discounted attendance fees and EarthSave bookstore prices. You may join our group online at, or you can send a tax-deductible check for $35, or $50 for family membership, or $25 for student or senior, to EarthSave at 517 Talbott Ave. Lutherville MD, 21093.
