Catalonia has a long winemaking (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winemaking) tradition: the Phoenicians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenicians_(wine)) introduced winemaking (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winemaking) to the region several hundred years before the Romans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Empire) arrived there. For ages, Catalonia has been one of the richest and most dynamically developing Spanish wine regions.
However, not all the winemaking areas of Catalonia are equally known. Apart from the internationally renowned wineries of Priorat and Penedes, historical Tarragona, fashionable Montsant and rising Terra Alta, there are some other best hidden secrets of this land, deserving to be discovered.
During our 2-hour Meetup we will talk about the less explored Catalonia’s winemaking areas: Emporda, Alella, Conca de Barbera, Costers del Segre, Pla de Bages.
We will also speak about Catalan Christmas Culinary traditions, and which wines will match your festive dishes if you celebrate X-Mas in Catalan style.
We will taste 5 wines altogether: 1 white and 4 reds.
Snacks and appetizers will be provided, as well as the printouts of the presentation.
This Meetup cost is 30 EUR, which includes a special gift – a bottle of Cava per person!
The participation fee is to be paid in cash at the workshop.
The space is limited to 14 participants at a time.
The location is to be advised.
Please RSVP by the morning of December the 12th latest, for us to consider the required amount of wine and snacks.
In case of cancelation, we appreciate your early notification, to give the waitlisted members the opportunity to participate.
Looking forward to seeing you at our Meetup and tasting delicious Spanish wines together!
