When I got home I almost got my drums out...... The neighbours would not have appreciated pounding native African rhythms into the early hours.....

Oh and this message got stuffed onto my profile rather than on the event notice board:
What a nice bunch, I had a very enjoyable evening, and got back safe and sound on that famous last train (including carrying my bike over the bridge in a frenzy... :-D - thank you Claire for offering a ride!) and Chris for organising everything!

Not sure if I'll get there in time to meet you in the pub. Will you be easy to find?
If not, I'll try to find you all at the concert.

Arriving at 3.40pm by train - Chris did you want to meet at the station then? Otherwise I shall wander and make my way up to the Swan. See you all tomorrow!

this morning I just got the Mugenko news letter announcing this tour!
"The Way of the Drum" introduces the traditions of taiko in an accessible and entertaining concert. Taiko drumming has a long history in Japan from its roots within religious festivals, used to call the attention to the gods at Shinto ceremonies, to folk song, folk dance, and traditional theatre. These fascinating traditions are revealed to the audience in an accessible and entertaining concert, engaging the audience with dialogue and participation, in between the hard-hitting and powerful traditional taiko pieces.

    details here

They will be doing a full concert tour later in the year and will be in Weston on May.
