Bath Improv.

A class for all levels (most of us are beginners at the moment) consists of games and scenes all improvised by the people that come along. Sometimes it ends up a bit mad but sometimes you can be surprised by the theatre that comes out of nowhere. We start off every class with warm ups and progress depending upon how we all feel and mostly just have a laugh with a few drinks. Every Wednesday 7-9, at The St. James Wine Vaults (Upstairs). It is completely FREE but everyone pays £1 for the use of the room. No pressure to perform first time, you can just see what we are about and how the classes run.

To be fair, the swearing only occurred when we were asked to be angry within one particular sketch. Normally, the routines are relatively free from swearing. However, I'm not sure whether it's entirely possible to put a lid on it. If you are fully opening up and being 'at one' with the character in the scene, the unfolding circumstances may require it. On the other hand, if you always choose to play a vulgar kind of character It might be an idea to mix it up a bit! Does anyone do a 'sweary' character all the time though? I don't think so.

I don't know, Kerry! I have always been outrageous! But i seem to becoming an old fuddy duddy! I like all the B swear words but not so keen on the F word, that's all!

Hi Gillian. I am glad that you agree with me! And i agree with you too! The odd F word can be funny but if it is used repeatedly then it does lose it's impact and just becomes distasteful. I totally agree with your opinion as it is mine too! A good "bloody hell" is just as effective! Do you fancy meeting for a coffee sometime? Maybe we could start the Anti F Word Society!

I do so agree with you both. That was the only thing that spoilt last week, which apart from that was just wonderful. It's a fact that using words like the 'F' one lower your vibration, and why would we want to do that in such a fun group? Keep it high I say!
